Pune: Wanawadi police hand over stolen mobiles to their owners

PUNE: Officials and policemen of the Wanawadi police station returned 16 stolen mobiles to their owners and the owners were happy after getting back their mobiles.

The Wanawadi police station had received many complaints from citizens about their mobiles being stolen during travel or from various places through online and CEIR website. The police carried out technical analysis of IMEI numbers of the stolen mobiles and contacted people using them and got them back. The Wanawadi police recovered 16 mobiles worth ₹2.20 lakh and handed them over to their owners.

The citizens who got back their mobiles were very happy. The Pune city police have appealed to citizens to lodge complaints at the lost and found section of the Pune police website and CEIR website.

CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Vikrant Deshmukh, ACP Shahuraje Salve had instructed the Wanawadi police to trace the stolen mobiles. Accordingly, Sr PI Bhausaheb Patare, PSI Santosh Sonawane, PSI Sonalika Sathe of Cyber Cell, havaldar Atul Gaikwad, Rahul Gosavi, Vishnu Sutar, Vitthal Chormale, Amol Gaikwad, Nilkanth Rathod, Sujata Fulsundar and Sonali Wakse searched for the mobiles and after recovering them, handed them to their owners.

Citizens who got back their lost mobiles thanked the Pune city police. They also praised the Wanawadi police and thanked them.
