Pune: Travel agency owner dupes bizman of ₹3.87 lakh by promising cheap air tickets

PUNE: A person who is in the tours and travels business was cheated of ₹3.87 lakh by the owner of another travel agency on the pretext of booking cheap air tickets for the Kedarnath yatra. The victim has lodged a complaint with the Hadapsar police station.

The accused has been identified as Aniket Damle. He owns a travel company Arya Holidays. He told Rohit Kotwal (a resident of Manjari), owner of Parth Tours and Travels in the period from February 14 to March 21, that he will book cheapest tickets from Pune to Delhi for a group of 40 people who wanted to go on a tour of Kedarnath. Kotwal gave ₹1.61 lakh to Damle.

However, Damle told Kotwal that the price of tickets had increased and demanded ₹2.28 lakh. Despite Kotwal paying ₹3.87 lakh, Damle did not give the air tickets nor returned the money. Finally, Kotwal lodged a complaint with the Hadapsar police station. PSI Gandhle is carrying out further probe into the case.
