Pune: In a disturbing incident, a 19-year-old girl took her own life by hanging after her boyfriend, Aditya Ashok Jadhav, allegedly refused to marry her. The victim, a resident of Rajuri, Taluka Purandar, was lured into a relationship under the guise of marriage, leading to a case of abduction and subsequent demise.
The father of the deceased filed a complaint at Loni Kalbhor Police Station on Sunday, prompting the registration of a case against Aditya Jadhav. The incident transpired on Friday around 11:30 a.m. at Uruli Devachi.
According to the police report, both the complainant and the accused hail from the same village. Aditya Jadhav reportedly ensnared the young girl in a love trap, resulting in her elopement. The accused, in a shocking turn of events, engaged in physical relations with the victim, offering promises of marriage. However, when the victim girl confronted him about the commitment, he callously refused, tormenting the young girl by saying, “Do what you want or go and die; I will not marry you.”
The emotional distress inflicted on the victim plunged her into a state of depression. Out of this bursting depression, she went to her maternal uncle’s house in Uruli Devachi for some days to stay, where she ultimately ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan.
The police are actively conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
