Pune, August 26, 2023 – A heart-wrenching incident has shaken the Lakdi village in Indapur Taluka, Pune, as a pregnant woman and her two-year-old daughter were discovered lifeless inside a well. The tragic episode unfolded while the mother and child were engaged in washing clothes near the well, local law enforcement authorities have reported.
According to officials from the Walchandnagar Police Station, the unsettling incident came to light at approximately 3:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. The well, situated around 400 to 500 meters away from the woman’s residence, became the unfortunate site of the event. Preliminary investigations by the police have led them to believe that the woman and her daughter inadvertently fell into the well while drawing water for their laundry needs. However, the police force remains committed to conducting a thorough inquiry to unveil all aspects of the matter.
Sources confirm that the woman was in the early stages of her pregnancy, approximately 2.5 months along. Upon receiving the alert, the police team promptly reached the scene, and with concerted efforts, they successfully retrieved the woman and her daughter from the well. Tragically, despite their best efforts, medical professionals pronounced them both deceased upon examination.
