Pune: In the Chandannagar police station limits, criminal-minded ruffians attacked three people who went to settle a dispute between two parties. In this regard, a complaint has been lodged against six people at Chandannagar police station, and four people have been arrested, including three inveterate criminals.
In this regard, 22-year-old Saurabh Santosh Padale, a resident of Somnathnagar, Vadgaon Sheri, filed a complaint at the Chandannagar police station on Monday, December 25. Accordingly, Chandannagar police apprehended Anuj Jitendra Yadav, Harikesh Tuntun Chavan, Akash Bharat Pawar, and Amol Vasant Chorghade.
Furthermore, police booked Akshat Tapkir, Rahul Barwase, and other criminals under IPC 307, 326, 324, 143, 144, 147, 148, 149, the Arms Act, the Maharashtra Police Act, and the Criminal Law Amendment Act. It is learned that accused Anuj, Harikesh, and Akash are recidivist criminals on police record.
As per the information, complainant Saurabh Padale’s friend, Rishikesh Dhotre, has an argument with Akash Pawar. To settle the dispute, Saurabh went to Digambarnagar with his two friends. At that time, Akash Pawar attacked Saurabh and slapped him. Also, another accused violently stabbed Rishikesh with a sharp machete with the intention of killing him.
In further altercations, the accused also launched a brutal attack on the complainant’s friends, Abhi Agarkar and Yogesh, while both were attempting to save Rishikesh. The accused attacked both with a machete in hand. Meanwhile, when people from the neighbourhood started thronging the place, the accused threatened them with killing by brandishing a machete in the air if they attempted to intervene.
This short-time violent brawl caused havoc in the area for some time, with no one having any idea what to do. After some time, when the accused left the scene, the complainant went to the Chandannagar police station and registered a complaint against the accused. Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Ghorpade.
