MUMBAI / PUNE: The state government has taken an important decision for the benefit of housing societies in Mumbai and Pune and other cities which are waiting for its approval for self redevelopment. Through a single window scheme, a proposal will be cleared in three months after it is submitted. The MSCB has been appointed as the nodal agency for disbursing loans for self redevelopment of societies. This decision will boost self redevelopment of societies.
Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis had made some important announcements during the conference of housing societies held in Mumbai three months ago to boost the process of self redevelopment of housing societies. Accordingly, the Housing Development Department has issued a government order.
The builders benefits the most during the redevelopment of a society and in self redevelopment, members of societies get all the benefits. Hence, the state government encourages self redevelopment of societies. Hence, during the tenure of BJP-Sena government under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis, the government had issued a GR about self redevelopment on September 13, 2019. To make this a faster process, the Shinde-Fadnavis-Pawar government has made some changes.
Accordingly, after a proposal of self redevelopment is received through the single window scheme, all clearances would be given in three months. Also, the MSCB has been appointed as the nodal agency for financing self redevelopment and guiding these projects. The MSCB will work as a nodal agency in each district. Similarly, if a bank takes the lead in financing such projects, it will also be appointed as the nodal agency.
