Pune Squash Players Shine at Interdistrict Championships

Pune squash players have showcased their dominance by securing four out of eight titles at the Interdistrict Squash Championships, organized by the Maharashtra State Rackets Association in association with the Poona District Squash Rackets Association. The championship recently concluded at the Maharashtra Squash Academy and Evolve Squash Courts on NIBM Road in Pune.

In the Girls under 17 category, Pune’s Howra Bhanpurwala triumphed over Shruti Magdum of Sangli with an impressive score of 11-01, 11-02. Meanwhile, in an all-Pune finals match in the Girls under 15 category, Anika Dubey outplayed Kuhu Parekh with a commanding score of 11-01, 11-0.

In the Boys Under 13 Final, Vivaan Khanna registered an 11-04, 11-08 win over Vinay Shinde from Osmanabad. Additionally, Dhruv Dubey secured a victory over Parth Gadekar of Aurangabad with an 11-03, 11-03 score.

The Girls under 11 category saw an all-Aurangabad match in the Final Round, with Isha Shelke defeating Isha Ambekar with a score of 11-06, 11-04. Meanwhile, in the Boys under 17 category, Rudrasingh Badgujar of Amravati triumphed over Pratik Tak of Parbhani with a score of 11-07, 11-06. His sibling, Indransingh Badgujar, secured victory against Siddhant Chaudhary of Osmanabad with an 11-08, 11-0 score in the Boys under 15 category.

In the Girls under 13 category, Vasundhara Nagre of Osmanabad clinched the title by outplaying Drishti Khatri of Pune with an 11-04, 11-04 victory.

The prizes were distributed by notable figures, including Mr. Bhausaheb Patare, Senior Inspector of Wanowari Police Station, Mr. Mayank Gupta, Senior Manager (Retail Sales) of Indian Oil Corporation, Mr. Anil Chormule, Deputy Director of Maharashtra Sports, and more.

The Interdistrict Squash Championships showcased the remarkable talent and dedication of squash players from Pune, who have once again proven their mettle and sportsmanship on the court.
