Pune: Speeded Uncontrolled Bus Collided with Bike in Katraj Pass; Two People Dead and Two More Under Hospitalisation

Pune: A speeding bus lost control and collided with a two-wheeler at midnight, causing the deaths of two people and injuring two pedestrians. This incident took place on the hill slope of the Khopdenagar area of the Katraj area on Monday (15th) at midnight, around 1 a.m.

In this regard, one of the injured pedestrians, Arjun Devashi, filed a complaint against the accused bus driver, Kiran Ravindra Mahade, 29, at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station. According to the police, in this speedy collision, two people who were on the bike, identified as Ganesh Chokala (a resident of Hadapsar) and Girdharilal Jat, died.

A complaint mentioned that on January 15, two people were going to their home after passing from the office on their two-wheeler. On the downward hill slope of the Khopdenagar area of Katraj, a bus driver from behind lost control of his vehicle and collided with those people from behind. It is said that this accident happened when the bus driver lost control of the car near Vrindavan Go School.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the bike got overturned on the road, further injuring two pedestrians on the road, Arjun Jujaram Devashi (age-23, resident of Nehrunagar, Pimpri) and Praveen Prajapati (age-23).

After the accident, bike riders and pedestrians were admitted to the hospital, where doctors declared the bike riders dead during the treatment. After that, police registered a complaint against the accused under IPC 279, 304A, 337, and 338 under the Motor Vehicle Act. Further investigation is being conducted by Sub-Inspector of Police Avinash Dhame.
