Pune: The ever-increasing disturbing incidences of molestation, rape, and serious crimes against women are not showing any downward trend in the foreseeable future and are taking a heavy toll on women’s safety in the city. One such heart-wrenching incident took place in Pune’s Kothrud area, where a 15-year-old minor girl was brutally raped while she was going to the coaching class.
This shocking incident transpired on October 12 and November 18 in the Kothrud vicinity. In this case, a victim minor lodged a police complaint at Alankar police station on Tuesday, November 28. Accordingly, police apprehended two accused, namely Kishor Parameshwar Kedar (age 23) and Nakul Parameshwar Kedar (age 21), both residing at Happy Colony, Gosavi Vasti, Kothrud. According to sources, the police charged them under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code, such as 376, 376/2/N, and 354 d, along with POCSO Acts 4, 6, and 12.
As per the police complaint filed by the minor, one of the accused, Nakul Kedar, was harassing the minor while she was going to the class. Fed up with this continuous trouble, a minor complained about Nakul to his elder brother, Kishor. Enraged by this, Nakul one day obstructed the path of the victim, dragging her to the roadside and subjecting her to sexual assault. He forcibly raped the accused by pressing a handkerchief on her face.
He also threatened the girl not to tell anyone about the incident. The accused further flexed his muscles and asked the victim to come to him with the intention of further committing misconduct whenever he called. The female police sub-inspector, Shaikh, is carrying out further investigation into the case.
