Pune: Yesterday, a 13-year-old girl residing in the Handewadi Road area of Hadapsar registered a complaint of sexual assault against her own father. A letter received by the child welfare committee (CWC) revealed this disturbing incident.
A 13-year-old victim girl is living in a residential society along with her father and her sister. Police informed that after her mother passed away a few years ago, they moved into this building in Hadapsar. The victim girl mentioned that since her mother had died, her father was continuously harassing and torturing both sisters.
In October 2023, when the victim girl’s sister was filling water in the house, her accused father touched her in an inappropriate way. He further assaulted her sexually and threatened against telling anybody about this. The girl further mentioned in the complaint that her father was continuously harassing them.
Distressed by this continuous harassment and mental torture, the victim girl, with the help of her relatives, wrote a letter to the child welfare committee, describing the complete ordeal through which she suffered. Taking serious note of the letter received, CWC filed a complaint against the father at Wanwadi police station.
The police immediately booked the accused under IPC section 354(A) and the appropriate sections of the POCSO Act. Wanwadi police are delving further into the incident.
