PUNE / LONAVLA: The court repeatedly issued summons to Investigation Officer IS Patil in double murder case in Lonavla and issued a warrant. However, since he did not come to the Vadgaon Maval District and Sessions Court for recording his testimony, Vadgaon Maval District and Sessions Court Judge SS Pallod has issued a warrant to former Sr PI of Lonavla police station IS Patil through SP Pune Rural and ordered him to be present in the court.
What is the case?
Rajesh Bharat Pimple (29) and Akshay alias Sonya Shripak Gaikwad (27), both residents of Lonavla were missing form July 18, 2015. On July 20, 2015, Shripal Gaikwad had lodged a missing complaint at the Lonavla city police station.
When the Lonavla city police were carrying out a probe, they came to know that the accused Kisan Nathu Pardeshi, a resident of Lonavla, had forced the two youths to sit in his car over a dispute over placement of food hand cart and killed them and had thrown their bodies in the deep valley of Tamhini Ghat and tried to destroy the evidence.
An FIR was registered at the Lonavla city police station on August 4, 2015 under sections 302, 364, 342, 201 and 120(B) of the IPC.
Kisan Pardeshi and his accomplices Sharda alias Aap Kisan pardeshi (49), Yasmin Latif Syed (36), Ajay Krishnan Kesi (22), Ashwin Chandrakant Shinde(29), Sunil Babu Patekar (49), Vikas alias Gogya Suresh Gaikwad (24), Jagdish alias Jaggu More, Sadiq Ibrahim Bangali, Vinayak alias Vinay Dhore, Brijesh alias Baba, Salim Shaikh had been arrested by the Lonavla police on September 18, 2015. Since then, some accused are in judicial custody at the Yerawada Prison and some accused are on bail. The case is pending since many years. Hence, the Bombay HC has granted bail to some of the accused.
A chargesheet had been submitted in the sessions court against the 13 accused. The hearing of the case is regularly going on at the District and Sessions Court at Vadgaon Maval. The testimonies of all important witnesses have been recorded and the testimony of last witness, Investigation Officer and then Sr PI IS Patil is yet to be recorded.
Special public prosecutor told the court that Patil had been informed on the phone many times and summons had been issued and warrants were also issued but Patil does not present himself in the court. The Vadgaon Maval Sessions Court has issued orders that a warrant should be issued through SP Pune Rural.
Ad Zahid Qureshi, Ad Atul Gaikwad, Ad Milind Pawar, Ad Aniket Jambhulkar, Ad Suraj Desai, Ad Vinayak Mane, Ad AV Raut, Ad RG Kamble, Ad Thombre and Ad Nayakoji are appearing on behalf of the accused. Some accused are in the jail since eight years. Since the case is important, the government has appointed a Special Public Prosecutor. Hence, the court has issued an order that the warrant should be served through SP Pune Rural. The next hearing in the case is to be held on November 30.
