Pune Rural Police Form Special Cell of Volunteers to Manage Traffic and Crowds in Lonavala During Monsoon

The Pune Rural Police have taken a proactive step to address the challenges posed by the influx of tourists in Lonavala during the monsoon season. To manage the traffic congestion and crowds effectively, a special cell of volunteers has been formed by the police department. The initiative aims to engage students, social organizations, and other individuals to join the volunteers’ team and contribute to maintaining order and smooth traffic flow in Lonavala.

Managing Tourist Influx during Monsoon

Lonavala, a popular tourist destination near Pune, witnesses a significant surge in visitors during the monsoon season, particularly on weekends and holidays. The large influx of tourists often leads to heavy traffic congestion, making it challenging for the police to manage the situation effectively.

Creation of Lonavala Police Volunteers Cell

To tackle these challenges, the Pune Rural Police have established the “Lonavala Police Volunteers Cell.” The cell will comprise dedicated volunteers who will assist in managing traffic movement and controlling crowds in Lonavala city and its rural areas. The police department has extended an open invitation to students, NSS cadets, college students, NGOs, and private organizations to join the volunteers’ team.

Satyasai Kartik, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), highlighted the importance of this special unit and encouraged individuals to participate. Interested volunteers can fill out a Google form, as provided by the police department, to join the cell and contribute their efforts in maintaining a smooth and hassle-free environment in Lonavala.

Ensuring Smooth Traffic Flow and Public Safety

The formation of the Lonavala Police Volunteers Cell aims to alleviate the challenges faced by the police department during peak tourist seasons. By involving volunteers from various backgrounds, the police expect to have better control over traffic management and crowd control. The volunteers will work in coordination with the police officers to ensure the safety and convenience of both residents and tourists visiting Lonavala.

The initiative taken by the Pune Rural Police to form a special cell of volunteers demonstrates their commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of traffic and managing crowds in Lonavala during the monsoon season. By engaging students, social organizations, and other individuals, the police department aims to create a collaborative effort that will enhance public safety and provide a positive experience for both tourists and locals. The Lonavala Police Volunteers Cell serves as a testament to the proactive measures taken by law enforcement to address the challenges posed by the surge in tourists during this time of the year.
