Pune, 10th July 2023: Rohit Pawar, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Karjat-Jamkhed constituency and grandnephew of Sharad Pawar, expressed his conviction that Ajit Pawar would emerge victorious in the state assembly election from the Baramati constituency. He also stated that Parth Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s son, would not contest the Lok Sabha election against Supriya Sule, Sharad Pawar’s daughter.
Speaking to reporters in Pune, Rohit Pawar shared his thoughts on the upcoming elections. He expressed his unwillingness to contest against Ajit Pawar in the Baramati constituency, stating that due to Sharad Pawar’s vision and the work carried out by Ajit Pawar, people would overwhelmingly vote for Ajit Pawar. Rohit Pawar expressed confidence in the support that Ajit Pawar enjoys from the people of Baramati.
Rohit Pawar further emphasized that the people of the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency are discerning voters who will choose the right candidate. He mentioned that despite any campaigning efforts, the people of Baramati would make an informed decision.
Addressing the speculation about Parth Pawar contesting the Lok Sabha election against Supriya Sule, Rohit Pawar clarified that Ajit Pawar would never take a different stand when it comes to family. Parth Pawar had previously contested the Lok Sabha election from the Maval constituency but was defeated by Shiv Sena’s Shrirang Barne.
Rohit Pawar’s unwavering support for Sharad Pawar comes at a time when many MLAs have switched their allegiance to join the Ajit Pawar faction.
