Pune Rising: PCMC’s Greenlight for Key Development Initiatives

PCMC : In a recent meeting of the Standing Committee at the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), held at the prestigious late Mayor Madhukar Pavle Auditorium within the main administrative building, several pivotal decisions and project approvals were made, ushering in a wave of positive change for the city and its residents.

Crucial Approvals:

The committee granted approvals for a range of significant development projects, underscoring the commitment to improving the local infrastructure. Among the key decisions were:

  • Additional expenses for constructing an accessible Divyang Bhavan at Morwadi, including electrical works.
  • Allocation of funds for hoisting the national flag and the maintenance and repair of Bhakti Shakti Udyan.
  • Expansion of Dapodi’s Martyr Bhagat Singh School building, including electrical enhancements.
  • Paving block improvements in areas like Shastri Chowk and Ganesh Colony in Ward No. 5 Gawli Nagar.
  • Road development and construction works in Ward No. 5 Gawli Nagar.
  • Construction of a cross drainage work (CD work) on the main roads of Hargude Wasti Pawar Wasti in Ward No. 11.

Focusing on Infrastructure:

The PCMC is investing in infrastructure development, with approvals for road trenching and pothole filling in areas like Ward No. 16 in Kiwale, Shinde Wasti, and the Gurudwara area in Ravet, using the BBM method. Ward No. 2 Borhadewadi in Moshi is set to benefit from expenses covering MNGL Power Division, drainage, water supply, service channels, and road asphalting.

Empowering Communities:

The committee also sanctioned expenses for the development of footpaths in housing projects for Economically Weaker Sections in Chikhali Sector No. 17 and 19. Furthermore, the development of vacant land near Bhaji Mandai reservation in housing projects was given the green light.

Recognizing Achievements:

During the meeting, the committee acknowledged the remarkable achievement of Gayatri Sanjay Bhalerao, who secured a gold medal in a table tennis tournament (doubles category) in Berlin, Germany. In recognition of her achievement, the corporation will provide a scholarship and support various construction projects in the area.

Prioritizing Education:

Under the Regional Office, the architectural maintenance and repair work of the Wakad Secondary School building was approved. Additionally, the printing and supplying of answer sheets for the first-semester examination to students of the education department in classes 1 to 8 received approval. The expenses for cleaning and maintaining community and public toilets under the Regional Office of the Municipal Corporation were also given the green light.

These approvals reflect the commitment of the PCMC to improve the lives of its residents through strategic development projects, infrastructure enhancement, and support for local talent.
