Pune: In the brutal attack on retired police officer Wazir Shaikh two days ago, Wanwadi police quickly apprehended a man on Saturday. In the primary investigation, it was revealed that Shaikh was attacked by the accused due to a dispute over the space of the restaurant in the Wanwadi area.
In this case, police detained 45-year-old Pramod Kakade after a complaint was filed against him by the wife of the victim, Isha Wazir Shaikh, at Wanwadi Police Station. Sanjay Patange, senior police inspector of Wanwadi police station, informed that Shaikh is a retired police inspector who retired from police service a few months ago. Shaikh is currently residing in the Kondhwa area along with his family.
Shaikh started the Nature Grow Tourism Hotel at Samvidhan Chowk in the Wanwadi. For that, Shaikh has taken the premises on a ten-year lease. The complainant reported that the accused, Kakade, has property in that area. Before taking a property on rent from another, Shaikh inquired Kakade about the rental agreement. However, Kakade demanded an exorbitant amount and further extracted some money from Shaikh without making a tenancy agreement.
Exasperated by it, Shaikh made an agreement with another individual. This greatly infuriated Kakade. For that reason, he was continuously harassing Shaikh. While talking about the same subject on Friday night, Kakade and Shaikh got into a heated argument.
In an ongoing altercation, Kakade picked up a nearby stone and attacked the Shaikh. In this scuffle, Kakade brutally stoned Shaikh’s face, resulting in Shaikh receiving multiple injuries. After the attack, Shaikh was immediately shifted to the Ruby Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
After the incident, Wanwadi police investigated the incident thoroughly and apprehended the accused, Kakade, for attempting murder.
