Pune: Residents Troubled by Contaminated Water Supply in Ashraf Nagar, Kondhwa

Pune, 18th July 2023: The residents of Ashraf Nagar, Kondhwa, are currently grappling with an ongoing issue of contaminated water supply, causing serious concerns and hardships for the community. With polluted water being consistently supplied to their households, residents are facing various health problems and illnesses.

The problem of contaminated water has persisted in Ashraf Nagar for the past two years, leading to frustration and distress among its residents. Despite multiple complaints lodged with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), a satisfactory resolution has yet to be achieved. While authorities have responded by periodically cleaning the pipelines, the issue resurfaces within a few days, resulting in recurring stomach aches, cases of typhoid, and other ailments.

In light of the residents’ distress, Rajendra Jadhav, the Junior Engineer of the PMC Drainage Department, has reassured the community that the PMC is actively working towards finding a permanent solution to this problem. Diligent efforts are being made to rectify the issue and ensure a clean and safe water supply for the residents of Ashraf Nagar.
