The Pune Railway Division has taken a significant step towards enhancing passenger comfort and convenience by introducing a free drinking water facility at Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, and Miraj stations. With the rising temperatures experienced this year, providing access to clean and pure drinking water becomes even more crucial, especially for passengers traveling in general class coaches.
The initiative, spearheaded by Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey, has been successfully implemented with the collaborative efforts of Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Milind Hirve, and Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Ramdas Bhise. Their collective commitment and dedication have ensured the provision of safe and clean drinking water at the aforementioned stations.
Satara and Miraj stations have taken the lead in implementing the water distribution system, providing this essential facility to passengers without any cost. The Railway Department has played a crucial role in supporting these stations in their endeavor. Pune station, on the other hand, has received valuable cooperation from former corporator Rajabhau Laigude, social worker Yashwant Laigude, and the Rajasthani Mahila Mandal has extended their assistance to the Kolhapur station.
