Pune: Pune city and district records only 79 pc of average rainfall

PUNE: Only 684.1 mm rain has been recorded in the last four months in Pune city and district. The rainfall is 78.9 pc of the average annual rainfall. Last year, during this period, the city and district had recorded 1,047.5 mm. The statistics reveals that till today the city has recorded 363.4 mm rain compared to last year.

Last year, during the period from June 1 to October 2, the rainfall recorded was more than the annual average rainfall. However, the report published by the district agriculture department about the rainfall reveals that this year, the rainfall recorded is less than the average annual rainfall. Pune city and the district has recorded rainfall of 866.3 mm.

Meanwhile, only four talukas i.e. Maval, Bhor, Ambegaon and Khed have recorded more than the annual average rainfall. The rainfall in Junnar and Velhe talukas has almost reached the annual average rainfall of the talukas.

In Pune city, till today, 437.1 mm rain has been recorded. This is 71.6 pc of the annual average rainfall of the city. Last year, during monsoon, till today, Pune city had recorded 805.8 mm rainfall (132 pc).

The district superintendent agricultural office records the daily rainfall from June 1.
A record of taluka wise rainfall is also kept
Record of average rainfall every month
The report of daily rainfall recorded compared to the average rainfall is published every day at night
