Pune: Property Dispute Leads To Case Against 11 Individuals In Pune Camp Area

Pune: A longstanding property dispute in N.P.S. Lines East Street, Pune Camp, has resulted in a case registered against 11 individuals at Lashkar Police Station. The conflict, which has been ongoing since July 2022, involves a tenant’s alleged attempt to claim a property, leading to charges filed under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Kuwar Feroze Daruwala, a 64-year-old resident of N.P.S. Lines East Street, Pune Camp, initiated the legal action by filing a complaint at Lashkar Police Station. The accused individuals facing charges include Sohana Robin Andrews (43), Rajshree Shashikant Sangpaul, Shakuntala Reddy, Sanjay Mehta, Reshma Bora, Balu, and five unidentified persons. The case has been registered under Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code, citing multiple offences, including IPC 336, 341, 384, 385, 427, 447, 448, 452, 504, and 506.

According to the police, Daruwala claims ancestral ownership of the disputed property in N.P.S. Lines East Street, Pune Camp. Robin Andrews, the father of the primary accused, Sohana Andrews, has been residing on the premises as a tenant for the past two decades. Allegedly, Sohana Andrews was aware of the plaintiff’s ancestral claim.

However, the tenants are alleged to be harassing Daruwala with the apparent intention of forcibly taking possession of the property. Furthermore, they allegedly denied Daruwala access to the garden and intruded upon the premises. Other individuals involved in the dispute reportedly threatened the plaintiff and attempted to seize the property through intimidation.

In response to these allegations, the plaintiff decided to take the matter to court. Following the court’s order, the police initiated a case against the 11 accused individuals under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
