Pune: In a shocking revelation, the Jejuri police of Purandar taluka have successfully cracked down on a recent surge in two-wheeler thefts, leading to the arrest of a perpetrator who turned out to be none other than a policeman himself. The accused, identified as Vinod Maruti Namdar, a resident of Wanewadi in Taluka Baramati, was apprehended after an intensive investigation by the Pune Rural Police Force.

Vinod Namdar, currently stationed at the headquarters of the Pune Rural Police Force, was implicated in the theft of eight motorcycles in the Nira area of Purandar taluka. The rise in such incidents prompted a technical investigation, leading the police to the surprising discovery of Namdar’s involvement.

Police Inspector Bapusaheb Sandbhor of Jejuri Police Station informed that Namdar confessed to his involvement in the two-wheeler thefts during a thorough interrogation. Namdar’s modus operandi involved stealing motorcycles upon arriving at villages and subsequently selling them to individuals in different localities.
