Pune: Police vigilance saved woman’s life, drove an ambulance to hospital

Pune: The Ravet police personnel on Thursday shown that the police are not only to report crimes, but can also come to the rescue by becoming angels in times of need. A woman consumed a poison but she was saved due to timely action taken by the police.

On Wednesday morning at around 9:30 am, a woman security guard Pramod Mandele has consumed a poison at Maske settlement in Ravet. A call came from the police control room to the beat marshall police personnel of Rawet police station. Within a few minutes, police officers and personnel reached the Maskey settlement.

Sub-inspector of police Ravindra Panhale, police constables Daya Devkar, Sandesh Jadhav, Navin Chavan, Ajit Bendbhar immediately searched for an ambulance, but were unsuccessful. Therefore, the women who consumed the poison was taken to a private hospital in Ravet in a rickshaw. The doctors at hospital said that she need to be shifted at Yashwanrao Chavan hospital immediately. A hospital ambulance was available but there was no driver so assistant police sub-inspector Pramod Satras himself drove the ambulance and took the women to YCM. The sensitivity shown by the police helped save the life of the woman.
