Pune Police Uncover Inter-State Mobile Theft Racket; Two Arrested

Pune News : In a significant breakthrough, Chandannagar police apprehended two individuals and successfully dismantled an inter-state mobile theft racket, leading to the recovery of eight mobile phones. The accused, identified as Kiran Amarsinh Natmarwadi (19) and Mangi Amarsinh Natmarwadi (47), both residents of Talegaon Dabhade with origins in Kheda, Gujarat, were arrested on February 27.

Acting on information about two mobile theft suspects present at a vegetable market in Chandannagar, a police team promptly responded and intercepted the duo. Although initially evasive, the suspects, upon interrogation, admitted their involvement in multiple mobile theft cases within Pune city.

Upon searching the individuals, the police recovered three mobile phones. Subsequent investigation at the police station led to the discovery of an additional eight mobile phones of various brands, collectively valued at ₹54,000.

A case has been registered at Chandannagar police station under Section 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and further investigations are underway to trace the extent of the inter-state mobile theft operation.
