Pune police take action against Lalit Patil and his accomplices under MCOCA

PUNE: The Pune police have taken action against drug smuggler Lalit Patil and his 13 accomplices under MCOCA. The action has been taken against gang leader Lalit Patil, Arvindkumar Lohare, Amit Shaha alias Amit Mandal, Rauf Shaikh, Bhushan Patil, Abhishek Balkawade, Golu Sultan Ansari, Pradnya Kamble, Zeeshan Shaikh, Shivaji Shinde, Rahul Pandit, Samadhan Kamble, Imran Shaikh and Harishchandra Pant.

On September 30, Mephedrone worth ₹2.14 crore had been seized opposite the gate of Sassoon General Hospital. The racket was being operated by Lalit Patil. He was being helped by Bhushan Patil, Balkawade, Lohare and other accused. However, Lalit Patil had escaped from Sassoon Hospital on October 2 because he was scared that he would not be able to come out of prison. The Pune police had also seized 3 kg gold while probing the case.

At present, Lalit Patil is in the custody of Pune police and he is being questioned. Meanwhile, on Thursday, a police team with Lalit Patil had gone to his Nashik residence and they seized 5 kg gold.

Lalit Patil had purchased the gold by selling drugs. A question is being raised as to how much gold Lalit Patil has hidden after 8 kg gold has been seized.
