Pune Police Crime Branch Makes Arrests in Mehboob Pansare Murder Case

In a significant development, the Anti Extortion Cell Pune (AEC Pune) of Pune City Police’s Crime Branch-2 has apprehended two individuals directly involved in the murder case of former corporator Mahebub Pansare from the Deccan area. The Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende and Assistant Commissioner Satish Govekar of the Crime Branch provided the information regarding the arrests. The suspects have been identified as Vanis Prahlad Pardeshi and Mahadev Vitthal Gurav, alias Kaka Pardesi.

The heinous crime took place in Bendwasti around 5 pm on Friday, resulting from a land dispute. Mahebub Pansare was brutally attacked with an ax and a crowbar, leading to his tragic demise. Two other individuals, Sajid Yunus Mulani and Raju Firoz Pansare, sustained injuries during the incident.

A murder case has been registered against Vanesh Prahlad Pardeshi, Kiran Vanesh Pardeshi, Swami Vanesh Pardeshi, Kaka Pardeshi, and another individual at the Jejuri Police Station. Prompt action was taken as part of the Pune Police’s efforts in crime prevention, including combing operations, patrolling, and checking of criminals in the city, under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik.

Acting on confidential information, Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Govekar received intelligence that the two prime accused in the Pansare murder case, Vanis Pardeshi and Mahadev Vitthal Gurav alias Kaka Pardeshi, would be present in the Deccan area. In coordination with Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, Senior Police Inspector Pratap Mankar, Police Sub-Inspector Mohandas Jadhav, and a team of dedicated police enforcers, a search operation was initiated in the Deccan area.

Following a chase by the Anti-Extortion Squad-2 officers and police enforcers, Vanees Pardeshi and Kaka Pardeshi were apprehended. During the investigation, it was revealed that both suspects were directly involved in the murder of Mahebub Pansare. They confessed to their role in the crime, along with other accomplices. The arrested individuals have been handed over to the Jejuri police station of the Pune Rural Police force for further legal proceedings.

This successful operation was conducted under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ritesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner of police Ramnath Pokale, Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Govekar, Senior Police Inspector Pratap Mankar, Police Sub-Inspector Mohandas Jadhav, and a dedicated team of police enforcers including Surendra Jagdale, Ishwar Andhale, Sachin Ahivale, Shankar Sampate, Saidoba Bhojrao, Chetan Apte, Pradip Gade, and Pawan Bhosale.
