Pune Police Crackdown: Two Arrested for Illegally Selling Cannabis and Stimulant Injections

Pune: In a significant development, the Shirgaon police have successfully apprehended two individuals involved in the illicit sale of cannabis and stimulant injections within Pune. The arrest operation led to the confiscation of a total cache valued at Rs 1.21 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Sumit Ganesh Pillay and Chaitanya Umesh Kurhade, both of whom were taken into custody by the Shirgaon police.

As per the police report, the Shirgaon police were tipped off about the activities of the accused duo, Sumit and Chaitanya, who were allegedly engaged in the sale of stimulant injections used for purposes of intoxication and bodybuilding. Upon investigation, the police managed to recover 145 bottles of these injections, along with a small quantity of cannabis, from the accused. Subsequently, both individuals were apprehended in the Shirgaon locality.

The seized injections were identified as containing mephentermine sulphate. This operation was executed under the guidance of Padmakar Ghanwat, Assistant Commissioner of Police, with Vanita Dhumal, Senior Police Inspector of Shirgaon police, leading the operation.
