Pune: Police Commissioner Booked Notorious Criminal Sundersingh Bhuria And His Accomplices Under MCOCA; Marked 90th Case Under Statute

Pune: In the alleged acts of burglary, forced robbery, and repeated instances of creating terror in the area, notorious gang leader Sundersingh Bhuria and his three accomplices found themselves behind bars. They were charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) yesterday. This action was carried out under the leadership of Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar, who also marked his 90th such action under the MCOCA Act after taking the responsibility.

On October 6, Sundersingh Bhayansingh Bhuria (age 25) and his accomplices Mukesh Gyansingh Bhuria (age 27), Sunil Kamalsingh Alava (age 28), and Harsingh Walsingh Osnia (age 22), all originally hailing from Uttar Pradesh, were escaping after a housebreaking on Bhau Patil Road in Bopodi. During their skiddaddle, they encountered a security guard. In his attempt to catch thieves, the watchmen was heavily pushed by thieves to the side by the corner and thieves absconded by taking his 2100 rupees.

After this adventurous theft, gang leader Sundersingh Bhuria and his three accomplices have been registered and arrested under IPC 392, 34 in Khadki Police Station. After going through their track records, police discovered many cases of theft, burglary, and pilfery charged against them. Furthermore, Bhuria established an organised gang of criminals in the area with the intention of creating terror. Their modus operandi was to commit crimes through threats or intimidation of violence to obtain financial gain through illegal means.

Notably, many times, preventive action was taken against them from time to time; however, it hardly changed their behaviour. Due to the recurrence of such harmful and antisocial activities, police charged them under the stingy MCOCA Act yesterday.

A proposal to incorporate Sections 3(1)(ii), 3(2), and 3(4) of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999, in the case registered at Khadki Police Station was proposed by Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Sahane through Circle-4 Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashikant Borate. It was then presented to Additional Commissioner of Police Eastern Regional Division Ranjan Kumar Sharma. After scrutinising this application, the Additional Commissioner of Police approved the inclusion of MCOCA crimes against them.

This action was carried out by the team of Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Sahane, Police Inspector Crime Mansingh Patil, Police Sub Inspector Sanjay Kaputkar, Sub-Inspector of Police Vaibhav Magdum, Surveillance Officer Ramesh Jadhav, and Women Police Officers Kiran Mirkute and Swati Mhaske, under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ritesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner of Police East Regional Division Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashikant Borate, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Aarti Bansode.
