Pune: PMRDA Facilitates Affordable Houses with New Electricity Connections

Pune, 30th June 2023: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has made significant progress in its mission to provide affordable houses to beneficiaries in the Jadhavwadi, Sector 12 project. In addition to the housing units, PMRDA is focused on ensuring that beneficiaries have access to new electricity connections. The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has stepped forward to provide an abundant supply of new electricity meters for this purpose. The first phase of the project aims to equip approximately 3,100 houses with these new electricity connections.

As of now, the PMRDA has received 1,919 applications for new electricity connections, out of which quotations have been provided to 1,509 customers. Of these, 1,367 customers have successfully received their new electricity connections after paying the quoted amount. For beneficiaries who encounter difficulties in filling out the online application form, it is recommended to visit the Bhosari village branch office along with the necessary documents, including the allotment letter and the Aadhaar card of the person mentioned in the letter.

To expedite the process of providing electricity connections for the PMRDA houses, Mahavitran, the state electricity distribution company, is diligently working on the project. A dedicated help room has been established at the branch office in Bhosari village to assist beneficiaries throughout the process. It is crucial for beneficiaries to be cautious and avoid responding to any third-party requests for financial compensation in exchange for an electricity connection. Additionally, if there are any complaints or issues related to the new electricity connections, MSEDCL has requested beneficiaries to directly contact the Branch Engineer of Bhosari Village or the Additional Executive Engineer of the Bhosari Sub-Division.

In order to streamline the process of providing new electricity connections, two additional employees have been appointed at the customer convenience center in the branch office at Bhosari village. Beneficiaries who are unable to fill out the online application for an electricity connection are encouraged to visit the Bhosari village branch office with the required documents. The team at the office provides assistance with online application submission, document verification, quotation issuance, and facilitates the installation of new meters and electricity connections.

The PMRDA’s efforts to provide affordable houses with new electricity connections are a significant step towards improving the lives of beneficiaries. The provision of these essential services is essential for creating sustainable and livable communities in Pune. With the cooperation of MSEDCL and the dedicated team at the Bhosari village branch office, the PMRDA is making commendable progress in fulfilling its commitment to affordable housing and ensuring reliable access to electricity for all beneficiaries.
