Pune: PMRDA and Busan Metropolitan Corporation Sign MOU to Drive Urban Development Initiatives

Pune, 7th July 2023: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and Busan Metropolitan Corporation of South Korea have recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation in the field of urban development. The MOU was officially signed by Hoe Sook, the Director of K-Art Institute, and Rahul Mahiwal, the Metropolitan Commissioner of Pune.

The primary objective of this agreement is to promote collaboration and mutual support between Busan Metropolitan City in South Korea and the Pune region in India. Through this MOU, both parties aim to facilitate the exchange of valuable information on policies and ongoing projects related to urban development.

To commemorate this significant occasion, several prominent figures from both sides were present. Representing the PMRDA were Deepak Singla, the Additional Commissioner, Sunil Pandhare, the Joint Commissioner of Administration, and Ramdas Jagtap, the Deputy Collector & OSD to the Commissioner. Additionally, Shilpa Karmarkar, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PMRDA, and Dr. Rajendra Jagdale, the CEO of Sci & Tech Park, also joined the delegation.

The collaboration between PMRDA and Busan Metropolitan Corporation holds great potential for driving urban development in both regions. By sharing expertise, policies, and project information, they aim to create sustainable and thriving urban environments for their respective communities.

Under this MOU, the two entities will engage in strategic cooperation, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building initiatives. They will explore opportunities for joint research, technical assistance, and implementation of best practices in urban planning, transportation, infrastructure development, and other related areas.

The partnership between PMRDA and Busan Metropolitan Corporation reflects a shared commitment to urban development and the exchange of innovative ideas. It opens up avenues for learning from each other’s experiences and leveraging collective strengths to address common challenges faced by rapidly growing cities.
