Pune: One arrested for firing in the air over delay in pizza delivery

Pune: A man was arrested for abusing, beating a food delivery agent for delivering a pizza late. Later, two persons visited the man’s residence to question his behaviour, whom he pushed out of his house, took out a pistol from his car and fired a round in the air.

The Lonikand police booked and arrested the man for attempting a culpable homicide. The incident took place on Monday at 11.15 pm.

The arrested accused has been identified as Chetan Vasant Padval. Rohit Rajkumar Hulsure and Bapusaheb Pathare, a resident of Kharadi, lodged a complaint in this regard.

According to the police, the accused ordered a pizza from the complainant’s Domino’s Pizza outlet. However, there was a delay in delivering the food parcel. Hence, the accused abused and beat up the delivery boy. The complainant went to the accused to question his behaviour with the delivery agent. The accused grabbed the complainant by his collar and pushed him out. Then he took out a pistol, loaded it and fired a round in the air.

His act of firing from a pistol could have caused the death of a person staying upstairs. Therefore, he was booked for attempt to kill a person at the Lonikand police station. PSI Gore is investigating the case.
