PUNE: The Pune police have organised a meeting of office-bearers of all Ganesh mandals in zone 1 to ensure that the Ganesh festival is celebrated this year in a peaceful and hassle-free manner. Joint CP Sandeep Karnik is going to attend the meeting. The meeting will be held at Durvankur Hall on Thursday at 6 pm.
The Ganesh festival is going to be held in September and the Pune police have organised a meeting to make arrangements for the festival. Office-bearers of Ganesh mandals in the limits of Deccan, Faraskhana, Khadak, Samarth, Shivaji Nagar and Vishrambaug police stations will attend the meeting.
There will be a discussion on problems faced by mandals, permissions required by them and guidance will be provided to them about precautions to be taken during the festival. There will also be a discussion about the security at Ganesh mandals and steps to be taken to prevent traffic jams.
