Pune Crime News

Pune: A 36-year-old married woman from Kondhwa found herself in an imbroglio on the night of January 1 when one person allegedly stalked and molested her. Furthermore, her husband was also assaulted by the accused’s friends. This incident transpired on December 31, 2023, at around 12:30 p.m. in a hotel in Undri.

In this case, the victim woman registered a formal complaint against the accused, identified as Jairaj Gaikwad (a resident of NIBM Road, Kondhwa), at Kondhwa Police Station. Accordingly, the accused, along with his three friends, was registered by police under IPC 354(a), 354(d), 323, 504, 506, and 34.

The woman mentioned in the complaint that Gaikwad has been continuously chasing the plaintiff from time to time since 2020 and was attempting to talk to her. In the latest incident, the plaintiff went to the hotel in the Undri area for dinner along with her husband and her friends on the eve of New Year’s celebrations.

At that time, the accused followed the woman and reached the same hotel along with some friends. Shockingly, when the plaintiff went to the washroom, the accused also followed her and again tried to talk to her.

But this time, he allegedly misbehaved and tried to molest her after the plaintiff rejected her request. He further tried to get intimate with the plaintiff, causing her embarrassment and outraging her modesty.

Meanwhile, the accused’s friends abused the plaintiff’s husband and also brutally assaulted him with hands and legs. After the incident, the aggrieved woman filed a complaint against the accused and his three accomplices at Kondhwa police station on January 1. A woman sub-inspector of police, Shaikh, is conducting a further investigation in this case.
