Pune Railway Station

Pune: In a bid to tackle the rising issue of ticketless travel and unauthorized activities at Pune railway station, a special team named the ‘Tejas Squad’ has been formed by the administration. The team comprises two ticket inspectors, 2 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, and 2 Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel. Their mission is to crack down on freeloaders and prevent any unlawful activities within the station premises.

The decision to create the ‘Tejas Squad’ came after a joint meeting was conducted among the Railways, GRP, and RPF authorities. The primary goal of this collaborative effort was to ensure the safety and security of passengers, particularly women and children, while putting an end to ticketless travel and other unauthorized actions within the Pune Railway Station area.

The rise in incidents of travelers evading ticket fare and engaging in unauthorized activities has prompted the need for a strong and coordinated response. With the ‘Tejas Squad’ now in action, it is expected that the administration will see a significant reduction in such incidents.

By deploying this dedicated team, the authorities aim to enhance ticket revenue collection, ultimately benefiting the railway system’s financial sustainability. Additionally, their presence and vigilance will deter individuals from participating in illegal activities, thereby promoting a safer and more secure environment for all passengers and commuters.

The ‘Tejas Squad’ is expected to work diligently to identify and penalize those traveling without valid tickets, ensuring that everyone pays their fair share for the services provided. Moreover, they will actively monitor and prevent any unauthorized or illegal activities within the station vicinity.

Passengers and stakeholders have expressed their appreciation for the administration’s proactive approach to tackling these issues. Commuters hope that the ‘Tejas Squad’ will bring about a positive change, leading to improved travel experiences and a more efficient railway system.

As the team commences its operations, passengers are urged to cooperate with the ‘Tejas Squad’ and comply with all ticketing regulations to make their journeys smooth and hassle-free. The collective effort of the railway authorities and travelers themselves will be vital in achieving the goals set by the ‘Tejas Squad.’
