Pune, Jul 23 (UNI) NCP city unit president Deepak Mankar said on Sunday that he has made a contribution of Rs five lakh for the rehabilitation of people affected due to landslide in Irshalwadi village of Raigad district.

Mankar told UNI that since Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar cancelled his birthday celebrations following the landslide at Irshalgad in Raigad district, which claimed at least 27 lives so far, and exhorted party workers to do not hold celebrations of any kind, he has decided to contribute Rs five lakh for rehabilitation of Irshalwadi villagers.

On occasion of Ajit Pawar’s birthday, the Pune-Baramati cycle competition was held on Saturday, he added.

Meanwhile, Mankar was felicitated by District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil at the latter’s residence in Kothrud today on being appointed as new NCP president of Pune.
