Pune: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has introduced the Swargate to Mantralaya (State Secretariat) Shivneri bus service.
Many government and private employees stay in Mumbai and visit Pune on weekends. They return to Mumbai early on Monday. This service will help such people.
The Shivneri bus will leave Swargate at 6 am every Monday while it will leave Mantralaya at 6.30 pm every Friday. The service is available twice a week. The bus will travel via Atal Setu, which connects Navi Mumbai to Mumbai, shortening the travel distance. ST buses have started plying on the route. The Pune-Dadar Shivneri service via Atal Setu is getting good response. Staffers from Mantralaya had demanded the Swargate to Mantralaya service. Moreover, the Hirkani bus service is also available on this route.
Passenger concessions applicable
Government employees were demanding the direct bus service from Swargate to Mantralaya. The new Shivneri Swargate-Mantralaya bus service will benefit people working in Mantralaya and nearby areas. Women and senior citizens in the age group of 65-75 can avail 50 pc concession for the service. It is free for senior citizens above 75 years. A ticket for the service can be booked on the MSRTC portal or on the mobile app. This was revealed by Pramod Nehul, Divisional Controller, MSRTC.
