Pune: Midnight Mayhem! Young Man Ambushed After Coming to Aid of Injured Friend

Pune: A young man who arrived to rescue his injured friend, struck on the head by a thrown stone and bottle, ended up sustaining severe injuries at the hands of the gang. This incident took place on January 1 around 12:30 midnight behind the Mhasoba temple in Gokulnagar Katraj.

In this regard, a complaint was registered against eight people at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station by the injured Shubham Bapu Kshirsagar (a resident of Swami Samarth Nagar, Katraj-Kondhwa Road). Accordingly, police booked Ganesh Kiran Honingle, Bhavdya alias Dhananjay Jagtap, and Aryan (full name not known), along with five other persons under IPC 307, 323, 504, 143, 144, 147, 148, 149, Arms Act 4, (25) and the Maharashtra Police Act, and took stringent actions against them.

Kshirsagar complained that, on the night of January 1, he received a call from his friend, Sanket Wadkar, informing him of a brutal assault on his friend, and he requested the plaintiff to rescue him. Accordingly, the plaintiff reached the location and found that his friend had been brutally assaulted by some individuals.

However, when Kshirsagar attempted to admit Wadkar to a nearby hospital, a few gang members who assaulted Wadkar obstructed and abused him. In a further altercation, the accused also assaulted Kshirsagar with nearby stones, weapons, and hands. In this altercation, the plaintiff also received some major injuries.

Assistant Police Inspector Vishwas Bhabad is conducting further investigation in this case.
