Pune, India: Pune Metro, the city’s lifeline for commuters, achieved a remarkable milestone during the culmination of the Ganesh festival. On the visarjan day, when thousands thronged the city to partake in the grand celebrations and processions hosted by various Ganesh mandals along Tilak Road and Laxmi Road, Pune Metro recorded its highest-ever ridership.

To facilitate citizens’ seamless participation in the festive fervor, Pune Metro officials had earlier announced extended service hours, with trains running until 2 am on the visarjan day. Traditionally, individuals from various parts of Pune and neighboring districts converge on the city each year to partake in the spectacle of the grand visarjan processions organized by Ganesh mandals.
