Pune Metro Construction: New Traffic Routes and Restrictions in Shivajinagar

Pune Traffic Updates

In light of the ongoing installation of a metro girder at Veer Chaphekar Chowk, a temporary traffic diversion has been implemented to alleviate congestion in the Shivajinagar area, effective immediately. This diversion aims to facilitate smoother traffic flow and enhance overall safety during the construction period.

New Traffic Route

Vehicles traveling from Wakadewadi and Patil Estate (Madgulkar Underpass) must now follow the diversion via Simla Office Chowk to Wadi. This applies to all three-wheelers and four-wheelers. The new route has been enforced to reduce traffic blockages caused by the metro installation work.

Affected Areas

Prohibited Route: All three-wheelers and four-wheelers coming from Wakadewadi and Patil Estate on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway are now banned from using the Madgulkar Underpass.

Alternative Route: Vehicles should now proceed to their desired destinations via the Sancheti Chowk route.

Authority and Implementation

This change has been authorized by Rohidas Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Transport, Pune City, Shivajinagar. The temporary traffic arrangement is effective immediately and will be reviewed as the metro construction progresses.
