Pune Metro and PMPML to Revolutionize Commuting with Unified Ticket System

Commuting in Pune is on the verge of a significant transformation as Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) and Pune Metro join forces to introduce a unified ticketing system. Officials have revealed that PMPML is currently undergoing necessary changes in its ticketing software and operations to facilitate the seamless implementation of this integrated service.

Sanjay Kolte, the Chairman and Managing Director of PMPML, recently engaged in discussions with metro officials to outline the details of merging their respective ticketing systems. Kolte shared insights during the meeting, affirming that the integration process has already commenced and is poised for swift implementation.

The upcoming unified ticketing system will see the Metro card system seamlessly connected to the PMPML system. To achieve this, the PMPML administration will introduce specific modifications to their existing system, creating a seamless link with the metro card ticketing system. As a result, commuters will enjoy the convenience of traveling seamlessly across both PMPML and metro public transport systems with a single ticket.

Commuters have welcomed this collaborative initiative with enthusiasm. Shaunak Kothari, a regular traveler, expressed his excitement, stating, “I often travel on the Vanaz route and further via PMPML. If we get one ticketing solution for both the transport services, then it will be beneficial for us.”

The introduction of this unified ticketing system marks a significant step toward making commuting in Pune more convenient, efficient, and hassle-free for all residents and visitors alike.
