PUNE: The city has been experiencing higher temperatures for a couple of days. The IMD has forecast that the maximum and minimum temperatures are going to increase more than the average during October. Hence, October heat will be felt more this year and the chill will be less in the morning.
Since the beginning of October, the monsoon has taken a break. Due to the dry weather, the maximum temperatures have increased in the state.
Compared to last year, Puneites will have to face ‘October heat’ this year. Last year, due to the extend monsoon and less than average temperatures, the Puneites had not faced the October heat. However, this October, the possibility of rainfall is less and there is a possibility of maximum temperatures increasing by one or two centigrade. Hence, citizens will have to exercise caution.
After the monsoon disappears, dry weather prevails which leads to an increase in the temperature. Although the day temperature increases, it drops at night. The sunlight falls on the ground and the air becomes hot. When humidity increases, the heat remains for a longer time. This results to higher temperatures. Hence, the effect of October heat is experienced.
