PUNE: The Pune Metro project linking the IT hub Hinjewadi with Shivaji Nagar is making a smooth progress. In last 14 months, 45 per cent of the work has been completed. However, it is a challenge to complete the remaining work in 18 months (March 25). For this route, 4,000 segments have been installed and 80 per cent of pillars have also been installed.

The Tata Group has undertaken the work of executing the Pune Metro Route number 3 project on PPP basis for PMRDA. A Special Purpose Vehicle, Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited has been set up.
