Pune: Man kills friend for abusing him under influence of liquor, Kondhwa police arrest accused in eight hours

PUNE: A man throttled his friend because he used to abuse him after consuming liquor and disposed of his body on Tuesday in the limits of Kondhwa police station. The Kondhwa police arrested the accused within eight hours of the crime and cracked the case. The incident took place at a secluded area behind Hatimi Hills Society in Kamthe Patil Nagar.

The deceased has been identified as Nasim Saidullah Khan (37), a resident of Labour Camp, Kamthe Nagar, Pune and hailing from Chhattisgarh. The accused has been identified as Kamal Rohit Dhruv (19), a resident of Labour Camp, Kamthe Nagar and hailing from Chhattisgarh.

Senior PI Santosh Sonawane instructed his teams to locate the accused and arrest him. Two teams had been formed to trace the accused. API Lekhaji Shinde and API Dinesh Patil were trying to locate the accused along with other police personnel.

The police teams first identified the deceased. Later, they tried to find out whether he had a row or a dispute with anybody and did not get a satisfactory answer. It was a challenge for the police teams to carry out an investigation because there was no CCTV footage, witness, technical evidence or other evidence. Since the teams had a suspicion that the deceased may have been killed by a person staying in a nearby area, they carried out a probe and apprehended Kamal Rohit Dhruv and grilled him.

Initially, Kamal Dhruv gave evasive answers but when he was subjected to intensive questioning, he told the police that the deceased Nasim Saidullah Khan used to abuse him after consuming liquor. On the day of the incident, Khan had abused him and gone somewhere.

Kamal Dhruv followed Khan and throttled him in the secluded area behind Hatimi Hills Society and later smashed his face with a stone, which resulted in his death. The deceased and the accused to do tile fitting work.

The action was taken by a team of police officials including API Lekhaji Shinde, API Dinesh Patil, constable Amol Hirve, Vishal Memane, Lavesh Shinde, Nilesh Desai, Satish Chavan, Shahid Shaikh, Santosh Bansade, Jaidev Bhosle and Vikas Margale under the guidance of CP Ritesh Kumar, Addl CP Ranjan Sharma, DCP R Raja, ACP Shahuraj Salve, Senior PI Santosh Sonwane and PI Sandip Bhosle.
