Pune Lok Sabha Constituency Voter Registration Deadline Approaching: Ensure Your Voice Is Heard

Last Chance to Register for Pune, Maval, and Shirur; Baramati Deadline April 9

As the Lok Sabha elections approach, the Pune district has witnessed a significant surge in voter registrations, with an impressive total of 82,92,951 eligible voters across 21 assembly constituencies. Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase announced this milestone during a press conference, emphasizing the importance of voter participation in the democratic process.

Since the official release of the final voter list on January 23rd, electoral authorities have diligently processed new applications for enrollment and registrations from voters relocating to Pune from other states. This meticulous effort has resulted in an increase of 1,65,932 voters over the past two and a half months.

Dr. Diwase attributed this surge to the proactive campaign conducted by the district administration to encourage voter registration. He also noted that an additional 23,000 applications are currently under processing.

The registration process for adding names to the voter list is ongoing, with candidates allowed to register up to ten days before the last day of filing applications. The deadline for registering names for the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency is April 9th, while for Pune, Maval, and Shirur Lok Sabha constituencies, it is until April 15th. A supplementary voter list will be published following the processing of applications received during this period.

With the increase in voter numbers, the electoral infrastructure has been strengthened, leading to a rise in the number of polling stations across the 21 assembly constituencies. A total of 8,382 polling stations will be set up to accommodate voters.
