Pune Leads Western Maharashtra in Industrial Investment, Secures Top Spot

Pune has emerged as the frontrunner in industrial investment, surpassing all other districts in western Maharashtra. A series of district-level investment conferences organized by the Industries Department aimed to bolster investment in the region’s industrial sector. The culmination of these efforts resulted in Pune district alone securing a staggering investment of Rs 16,581 crore, out of a total investment of Rs 21,737 crore across Pune Division.

The investment conferences, orchestrated by the District Industry Centres, provided a platform for both small and large-scale industries to engage with potential investors. Pune Division, comprising Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, and Kolhapur districts, witnessed significant traction in investment commitments during these conferences, promising a total of 42,534 job opportunities.

In Pune District, 72 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were inked, paving the way for an investment of Rs 16,581 crore and the creation of 29,013 jobs over the next two years. Kolhapur District secured investments totaling Rs 1,530 crore through 52 MoUs, promising 3,229 employment opportunities.

Solapur District attracted investments amounting to Rs 1,481 crore through 62 MoUs, with an anticipated creation of 4,166 jobs. Similarly, Satara District secured investments of Rs 1,116 crore through 56 MoUs, projecting 2,886 job opportunities. Sangli District also witnessed significant investment commitments, with Rs 1,027 crore pledged through 60 MoUs, promising 3,240 job opportunities.

The data on investments and employment opportunities reaffirms Pune’s position as a thriving hub for industrial growth and economic development in western Maharashtra.
