In its ongoing commitment to enhancing passenger services, Central Railway has implemented infrastructure upgrades on various sections, enabling trains to operate at speeds of up to 130 kmph. The Wardha-Badnera route, spanning 95.44 km, will now host 30 trains (15 Up and 15 Down) with increased speeds effective from November 22, 2023, revolutionizing travel experiences for commuters.

These speed enhancements, achieved through multi-tracking, overhead equipment regulation, signaling works, and other technical improvements, aim to reduce running times and enhance overall punctuality. Safety aspects and technical inspections have been meticulously ensured before implementing these speed increases.

Central Railway currently operates trains at speeds of up to 130 kmph across a total distance of 1206.73 km, covering various sections. The ongoing efforts to improve train speeds extend to the Daund-Solapur-Kalaburagi-Wadi section, covering 337.44 km, with expectations of trains running at up to 130 kmph on this segment in the near future.
