Pune: Green Conclave on ‘De-Carbonisation and Sustainability’ held in NICMAR University

Pune: Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) ,Pune Chapter in association with NICMAR University, Pune organized a National ‘GREEN CONCLAVE -24’ on Carbon theme on 3rd February, 2024 at NICMAR University, Pune Campus.This conclave was Supported by more than 18 professional organizations serving construction & MEP services industry, where a pledge to promote De-carbonization supporting the national theme of ISHRAE, was taken by all present dignitaries and participants.

While the event was focused on carbon, it was important to acknowledge the carbon emissions caused by the event itself. Under the expertise of MITCON, methods to capture the carbon emissions due to the travel of the participants, guests & speakers etc., for food preparation and the electricity consumption of the venue. The emissions were calculated with help of the Global Standards and were compensated by having equivalent carbon credits to neutralize the emissions. This is the first ever carbon neutral event by ISHRAE.

ISHRAE Pune organized day-long sessions on ‘Exploring The Carbon World’, with Panel Discussions, Live Masterclass and Carbon Masters Awards. These awards were presented to various disciplines right from Village to Industries as well Social Organizations who have immensely contributed towards reducing carbon footprints.

Suresh (NBC Chairman), Arvind Surange (President Emeritus ISHRAE), Anil Kashyap ( DG of NICMAR University),Ashish Rakheja (VP-ASHRAE), Pankaj Dharkar(Chairman-ASSOCHAM GEM), Deepak Mhaisekar (Retd.IAS), Meher Sidwa, Mahesh Ramanujam, Mukesh Malhotra (Ex Chairman of MCCIA), Architect Habeeb Khan(Ex President of CoA), Lalit Gabhane (DG of NSC), Manish Gulalkari (RD of West1 ISHRAE) Nandkishor Kotkar (President-ISHRAE Pune) and Architect Dr. Anshul Gujrathi (Convener -GC24) were present in conclave.

Actor & eminent environmentalist Sayaji Shinde (Founder of Sahyadri Devrai), Santosh Tikekar (Sarpanch of Tikekarwadi), Dr. Hariharan, Dr.Mili Majumdar, Swapnil Joshi,Dr. Sunita Purushottam highlighted their views and contribution toward decarbonization. Green Conclave witnessed a notable footfall of more than 750 professionals & Students from the entire Built Environment Fraternity.
