Pune: Government Approves Expansion of Police Posts in Pimpri-Chinchwad to Address Growing Challenges

Pune, June 28, 2023: In a recent Cabinet meeting led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, a significant decision was made to address the increasing challenges faced by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. With the recognition of the impact of rapid urbanization, industrialization, rising vehicular accidents, and an uptick in crime rates, the government has granted approval for the creation of three crucial positions: one Additional Commissioner of Police and two Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP).

This decision comes as a proactive response to the expanding scope of work within the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police, where the existing resources were deemed inadequate to effectively tackle the evolving security landscape. The objective is to strengthen the capabilities of the police force, empowering them to better serve and protect the community amidst these emerging challenges.

The addition of an Additional Commissioner of Police and two Deputy Commissioners of Police will enhance the operational capacity of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. These newly sanctioned positions will play a vital role in overseeing and coordinating various aspects of policing, such as crime prevention, law enforcement, traffic management, and community engagement.

The Additional Commissioner of Police will assume a senior leadership role, providing strategic guidance and direction to the police force. This position will contribute to the formulation and implementation of effective crime control strategies, ensuring the safety and security of the residents in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

The two Deputy Commissioners of Police will support the Additional Commissioner in their responsibilities and will be entrusted with specific areas of focus. These DCPs will play a critical role in managing and supervising the operations of the police force within their respective domains, working closely with officers, personnel, and the community to address security concerns, maintain law and order, and uphold public safety.
