Corn Peeling Machine

Pune: A team of inventors from GH Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, Pune, comprising of Dr. R. D. Kharadkar, Campus Director, Dr. Arun Thakare, Associate Professor, and students of Mechanical Engineering department, got the Indian Patent for “Corn Peeling Machine.”
The patent granted the machine’s unique innovative design, utility, and potential impact on the agriculture and agro-processing industries.

The patented Corn Peeling Machine introduces a game-changing approach to corn processing, offering a more efficient and cost-effective solution for farmers, agro-processors, and maize grain traders. The patent underscores the machine’s distinctive features. The machine significantly reduces human efforts, taking only 10 to 15 seconds to peel the cover of a single corn and boasting a capacity to process 2 kg of corn per minute. Utilising Ultra High Molecular Weighted (UHMW) polyethylene material for rollers, the machine ensures longevity and resilience, positioning it as a sustainable and cost-effective solution. With square-shaped teeth on side rollers, the machine prevents damage to corn seeds, demonstrating a thoughtful and strategic design choice to enhance functionality.

Dheeraj Shaha, Pandurang Pawar, Nilesh Pawar, and Chhaya Bade, who contributed lot to developing the prototype as per design, are also Patentee

The college follows a problem-solving approach which makes the student understand real-life problems and find solutions to them. The faculty and students of the college also previously got patents for innovative design and products

Mr. Sunil Raisoni, Chairman, Raisoni Group of Institutions, and Mr. Shreysh Raisoni, Executive Director, Raisoni Group of Institutions, congratulated the inventors on getting the Patent.
