Pune Gets Green Signal for Rs 792.39 Crore Four-Lane Expansion on NH 965

In a significant development for Pune’s infrastructure, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has officially approved the proposal for the four-lane expansion of National Highway (NH) 965, stretching from Dive Ghat to Hadapsar. The Rs 792.39 crore project will be executed under the hybrid annuity mode, aiming to address traffic challenges and enhance connectivity in the region.

The announcement, shared through Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s official Twitter handle, stated, “Four-lane expansion of the existing 13.25 km stretch of National Highway 965 from Dive Ghat to Hadapsar (Package-6) in Mohol-Alandi section of Maharashtra has been sanctioned on hybrid annuity mode with funds of Rs 792.39 crore.”

The project is expected to bring about a transformative change in the traffic scenario, particularly in the Hadapsar and Dive Ghat areas. With more than 10 lakh Warkaris passing through this route during Ashadhi Wari, the four-lane expansion aims to alleviate congestion and enhance the overall commuting experience.

NCP MP Supriya Sule also expressed satisfaction on Twitter, stating, “The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has sanctioned a fund of Rs 792.39 crore for four-lane 13.25 km stretch of National Highway No. 965 from Hadapsar to Dive Ghat. After the completion of this work, the problem of traffic congestion on the Hadapsar – Dive Ghat route will be solved to a large extent.”

As Pune welcomes this infrastructural boost, the four-lane expansion on NH 965 is poised to usher in improved connectivity, smoother traffic flow, and enhanced accessibility between Dive Ghat and Hadapsar.
