Pune: Gang of three assaults youth due to old enmity in Kondhwa, three booked

Pune: A gang of three attacked a youth with a sharp weapon due to an old enmity. Two persons trying to save the victim were also assaulted. The incident took place at Samata Nagar in Kondhwa on Sunday night. Two persons have been injured. Three persons have been booked in this regard.

Amit Jayaram Sapkal (34), a resident of Kondhwa Khurd, lodged a complaint at the Kondhwa Police Station. Sunny Chavan (32), Anish Chavan (35), both residents of Kondhwa road, Shehbaz Khan (36), a resident of Krishna Nagar, and other unidentified persons have been booked under sections 326, 323, 34 of the IPC, along with the Maharashtra Police Act.

According to the police, the complainant’s friend Zainuddin Shaikh alias Kallu (32) and the accused had an old dispute. They charged at Kallu menacingly. Shehbaz Shaikh came from a lane and attacked Kallu with a sharp weapon and injured him. The complainant and his friend tried to save Kallu. Both were beaten up while the complainant received injuries on his hand and head. PSI Vaibhav Sonawane is investigating further.
