PUNE: An incident of two people being assaulted with hammer, iron rods and screw drivers over previous enmity in broad daylight in Ganesh Peth took place on Monday at 4 pm on the road opposite Shitaladevi Mitra Mandal. An FIR has been registered against 14 members of Andekar gang at the Samarth police station.
Aniket Dnanyeshwar Dudhbhate (30), a resident of Ambegaon Pathar, has lodged a complaint at the Samarth police station. The FIR has been registered against Bandu Andekar, Krishna Andekar, Tushar Wadekar, Swaraj Wadekar, Ramji Gujar, Akash Pailwan, Amit Patole, Yash Patil, Ayush Bidgar, Amir Khan and 3/4 others under sections 307, 326, 341, 506, 120(B), 143, 147 and 149 of the IPC and sections 37(1)(3) of the Maharashtra Police Act and Criminal Law Amendment Act.
According to the police, the complainant Aniket Dudhbhate’s friend Somnath Gaikwad, a resident of Nana Peth, has a quarrel with Bandu Andekar and Krishna Andekar. Somanth Gaikwad is presently in the Yerawada Jail. The accused hatched a plan to kill the complainant and the injured Nikhil Akhade (30), a resident of Dhankawadi. On Monday afternoon, the complainant Aniket and Nikhil were travelling on a Vespa scooter (MH12 SP 4347) on the road opposite Shitaladevi temple. At that time, the accused Ramji Gujar, Akash Pailwan, Amit Patole, Yash patil, Ayush Bidgar, Amir Pathan and their 3/4 accomplices stopped their vehicle.
The accused told the complainant that they will kill him and Ramji Gujar assaulted him with a hammer and Amir and Ayush assaulted Nikhil Akhade on his head and body with a screw driver. Amil Patole and Yash Patil caught hold of Aniket, the accused assaulted him and he was seriously injured. The accused, while leaving, displayed the weapons in the air and shouted that nobody should cross swords with Bandu Andekar and created terror in the area.
After the police were informed about the incident, DCP Sandeep Singh Gill, ACP Ashok Dhumal, Sr PI Suresh Shinde, PI Pramod Waghmare, API Dadasaheb Pandurang Patil, PSI Saurabh Mane, PSI Sunil Randive visited the spot. PI Pramod Waghmare is investigating the incident.
